God's Lake Nursing Station and Residences Building Exterior

God’s Lake First Nation Nursing Station

The dramatic angular winged canopy captures the powerful gesture of the majestic thunderbird. This wing-span cleverly accentuates the main entry, guiding all visitors to enter within. The symbolic black, white, red and yellow colours of God’s Lake First Nation are utilized in materials such as the roofing material and the thunderbird flooring inlay.

Aging-in-Place is about choices. The choice to live in your community. The choice to have options that will allow you to maintain a lifestyle that you have been accustomed to is a positive one. This can be supported by creating a series of households with a small number of residents to maintain a more residential feel.
Dauphin Hospital. New Emergency Department

Dauphin Regional Health Centre, Emergency Department

Completed
Patient-centered design and Lean healthcare concepts inform the design of the ED and SCU interior. Glazing at med rooms and exam rooms keep patients visible from work zones. Standardized exam rooms allow for a streamlined patient flow process as there is no need to wait for a specialized room. The layout of the unit itself mimics an ICU environment with exam, observation, and trauma rooms fanned around the central nurses' desk. The design responds to the need for a welcoming, accessible, and operationally efficient facility.

Biggar and District Health Centre

Completed
A new 54-resident, long-term care facility to replace the existing Diamond Lodge. The LTC was an addition to an existing hospital. The facility is designed to create a "home" like feel, starting at the front porch of each household. Residents within each household can freely choose their daily routine as they move from living room, kitchen/dining and private activities throughout the day.

Dakota Fieldhouse

Completed
The fieldhouse represents the fulfillment of a community’s need for additional space for indoor sporting activities. The idea of creating flexible space was key to the operations of the community centre. This “house” features three full-size basketball courts with the potential for six cross-court volleyball courts.
